Chris Bostick finished the American Rebel Light NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte filled with optimism for the rest of the season. Competing in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class aboard the Surf Signature RV Resorts Suzuki, Bostick exhibited steady progress during the event.
This positivity is a significant boost for the White Alligator Racing (WAR) team as they strive to make their mark on the NHRA circuit. Throughout the qualifying rounds, Bostick improved his performance with each run.
He started strong, clocking in at 7.225 seconds with a top speed of 189.36 mph, followed by an even better time of 7.144 seconds at 189.87 mph. Realizing the need for enhanced performance, Bostick and crew chief Tim Kulungian made the bold decision to swap out the engine during the competition.
This change turned out to be a game-changer, as he posted impressive times of 6.927 seconds at 196.90 mph and 6.921 seconds at 197.71 mph, landing him in fourteenth place for eliminations. Bostick expressed his thoughts following the event, saying, “Our team ran into a lot of gremlins this weekend, but those obstacles forced us to swap engines.
I think we will be more competitive moving forward. Once we get this new engine dialed in, it’s got the potential to put us in the middle of the pack.” This mindset reflects the resilience needed in competitive racing and the continuous quest for improved performance.
In the thrilling four-wide elimination round, Bostick’s hard work paid off as he delivered his best run of the weekend with a stellar time of 6.847 seconds at 194.30 mph. Although he did not advance to the next round, the experience amassed during this competition is expected to lay a solid groundwork for his next appearance at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals.
This race is set to take place from May 15 to 18 at Route 66 Raceway, just outside Chicago. The excitement in the drag racing world did not stop with Bostick.
There were several notable highlights during the event. Brittany Force recently set a new national record, astonishing fans by achieving speeds of 341 mph.
Bartone Bros. Racing celebrated a historic win at the Gatornationals in the Top Alcohol Funny Car category. Meanwhile, NHRA veteran Terry Haddock made waves by driving and co-tuning Bob Jarrett’s Showtime Dodge Charger Funny Car, shattering multiple European records at Santa Pod.
As the drag racing season progresses, the narratives of perseverance, considerable achievements, and the relentless drive for excellence continue to captivate fans and participants alike. With future competitions on the horizon, enthusiasts eagerly await developments in this exhilarating sport and the stories that unfold with each event.
