B.J. McLeod is set to return to the NASCAR Truck Series next weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, driving for Spire Motorsports. He will pilot the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado, sponsored by his new business, Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster.
This start is a milestone for McLeod, giving him a shot in top-tier equipment after years behind the wheel of underfunded cars. The 41-year-old Florida native last competed in the Truck Series in 2021, with his best finish being 15th place.
Over his career, McLeod has run 146 NASCAR Cup Series races, often as both driver and owner for Live Fast Motorsports. His best Cup result was seventh place at Daytona in 2022.
Earlier, McLeod sold his Cup Series charter to Spire Motorsports for about $40 million, shifting his focus to a limited schedule in both Cup and Xfinity events. The opportunity at Charlotte comes with a high-performing team.
Spire Motorsports strengthened its lineup after acquiring Kyle Busch Motorsportsโ operations in 2023. The No. 07 Spire truck already reached victory lane this season at Homestead-Miami with Kyle Larson behind the wheel.
At Kansas, the No. 07 truck finished second with William Byron, just behind teammate Carson Hocevar in the No. 7, marking a 1-2 result for Spire.
McLeod expressed excitement about the chance, calling it special to partner with Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster and return to the Truck Series with a team capable of winning. He noted that racing at Charlotte while promoting his coaster business represents both speed and fun, whether on asphalt or in the mountains.
He emphasized his hopes of putting on a memorable race for fans as he gets back into the rhythm of truck competition.
In 2025, the No. 07 Spire truck has featured several skilled drivers. Alongside Larson and Byron, Nick Sanchez and Sammy Smith have made appearances this season.
Spireโs strong roster and recent results suggest McLeod will have equipment capable of running at the front. This gives him a much-awaited shot against some of the best in the series. For more details on NASCARโs competitive landscape, visit the official NASCAR website.

This sponsorship also marks the first time McLeodโs new venture will be showcased at such a high-profile event.
The NASCAR Truck Series event at Charlotte is scheduled for next Friday, with McLeod aiming to make the most of this unique opportunity. Fans will be watching to see how he adapts after a few years away from the division. For event details, check the Charlotte Motor Speedway schedule.
