Corey Heim delivered a standout win at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23, 2025, claiming his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory of the season. Heim led 98 of the 134 laps in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200, crossing the finish line 6.229 seconds ahead of Ross Chastain.

This achievement marked Heim’s first career win at Charlotte and brought his total Truck Series wins to 15, making him the youngest driver in history to reach that milestone. At age 22, he now ties Matt Crafton for 10th on the all-time win list for the series.

Heim started strong and stayed out front for much of the race, sweeping both opening stages and setting the fastest lap. These results gave him the maximum possible 61 points for the event and widened his points lead to 100 over the next closest competitor, Chandler Smith.

Heim mentioned after the race that while speed had been present in past years at Charlotte, things finally came together perfectly on this occasion, giving credit to his team and pit crew for a smooth effort.

Ross Chastain finished second and described Heim as the clear leader of the field, especially during longer green-flag runs. Kaden Honeycutt brought home a career-best third, while Layne Riggs and Kyle Busch ended the night fourth and fifth.

Matt Mills joined his Niece Motorsports teammates in seventh, but none could keep pace with Heim throughout the race. Other strong finishes included Grant Enfinger, Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth, and Brandon Jones.

One of the main incidents occurred on Lap 71. Chandler Smith, who won the previous week at North Wilkesboro, was involved in a wreck that also collected Gio Ruggiero, Ty Majeski, and Connor Mosack.

Smith had started near the front but became the first car out of the race, finishing 34th. The race featured three caution periods totaling 20 laps, with two breaks for stage conclusions and one for the major multi-truck crash. Heim’s result at Charlotte set a new record for largest margin of victory in the Truck Series on that track. He also continued a strong trend on intermediate speedways, having won five of the last nine such races.

The Charlotte win made a strong statement about his overall form as the regular season continued. With only seven regular-season races left, Heim and a few others, including Smith, Tyler Ankrum, and Daniel Hemric, have secured wins this year, putting them in strong positions for the playoffs.

The focus now shifts to Nashville Superspeedway, where the Truck Series will race next in the Rackley Roofing 200 on May 30, with coverage set for the evening. For details on upcoming races, check the NASCAR schedule.

After a successful post-race inspection, Heim’s victory was made official. With his performance at Charlotte, he remains firmly in control of the series standings and looks ahead to keeping his momentum strong as the season progresses.
