NHRA has announced its new “Summer Kickoff” license transfer program, offering racers a June-only discount to switch their licenses from other racing organizations to NHRA. Drivers can apply for either a one-year or two-year license during this period, allowing them to race at over 110 NHRA Member Tracks throughout North America.
This deal enables racers to participate in popular series such as the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the Summit Racing E.T. Series.
An NHRA competition license comes with several benefits for those who qualify. Racers receive a NHRA Competition License Card and $600,000 in excess medical insurance when competing at NHRA Member Tracks.
Partners like Summit Racing Equipment offer special deals to license holders, who can also claim a 25% discount on NHRA.tv. This streaming service provides live coverage of national and divisional drag racing events.
NHRA license holders gain online access to NHRA National Dragster Magazine as part of their membership.
The Summer Kickoff program follows recent news that the Summit Racing Series World Championship purse for 2025 will see a major increase in Las Vegas. For many local racers, the timing is ideal to start competing at their home NHRA tracks.
The NHRA, established in 1951, will mark its 75th anniversary in 2026. Joining now provides access to valuable perks and the widest range of drag racing events in the industry.
According to NHRA Sportsman Manager Jason Galvin, the program is designed to welcome new drivers and give them a chance to race against some of the best in the country. He highlighted that competitors benefit from NHRA’s decades of experience and strong support network.
The organization is committed to expanding its community of sportsman racers and helping all skill levels reach their potential.
To take advantage of the Summer Kickoff discount, racers must use the official license transfer coupon. They can also locate their nearest NHRA Member Track with an online tool.
NHRA continues to provide clear ways for new and returning racers to get involved, with updates on rules and race schedules released regularly.
NHRA’s racing calendar remains packed with newsworthy developments, including Erica Enders’ plans for a comeback in Bristol and Jason Hoard discussing a high-profile Corvette crash on “The Wes Buck Show.”
Del Worsham was named the 2025 Legend of Thunder Valley, and ScottRod Racing has announced new schedule changes for the upcoming season.
As NHRA moves toward its milestone anniversary, racers will have more chances than ever to join the action and enjoy being part of one of motorsport’s largest communities.
The Summer Kickoff license transfer program is open through June 2025, making it the perfect window for drivers who want to increase their racing options and enjoy extra member benefits before the next big racing events.
