The official Formula 1 schedule for 2026 has been released, featuring 24 races for another action-packed season. The campaign will start at Albert Park in Melbourne on March 8 and conclude at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi on December 6.

This marks the third time in F1 history that the calendar reaches 24 events, a milestone first achieved in 2024. Each race offers unique challenges, with several notable changes from previous years.

A major update for 2026 is the removal of Imola, with Madrid taking its place at the end of the European segment in September. Madrid will join classic European venues like Silverstone, Monza, and Spa as must-watch races.

Canada’s round moves earlier, scheduled right after Miami in May, while Monaco will open the European leg on June 7. These adjustments aim to group races by region, easing travel for teams and improving logistics.

New rules debuting in 2026 could reshape the competitive landscape. Updates to power units and car chassis coincide with Cadillac joining the grid, expanding the field to 22 cars.

This expansion is expected to increase excitement and foster new rivalries throughout the season. Zandvoort will host its final sprint race before being dropped after 2026, with five other sprint race venues still to be announced.

The calendar includes two demanding triple-header stretches covering rounds 19 to 21 and rounds 22 to 24, testing team endurance and focus late in the season. The first triple-header starts with the United States Grand Prix at Austin on October 25, followed by Mexico City and Sao Paulo.

The second triple-header continues with races in Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi. These weekends will play a major role in deciding the championship battle.

Australia, China, and Japan will open the season with the first three rounds, setting the tone for the global tour. Silverstone will host its race on July 5, and the annual trip to Spa in Belgium is scheduled for July 19.

Other iconic circuits like Suzuka and Monte Carlo retain their traditional calendar slots, providing continuity for drivers and fans. The final rounds include high-pressure events in Mexico, Brazil, and Las Vegas before the season finale under lights in Abu Dhabi.

With a mix of seasoned stars and ambitious newcomers on the grid, the 2026 season promises close battles and fresh stories. Teams are preparing new cars to meet updated technical guidelines, anticipating surprises throughout the year.

Formula 1 continues to expand, reflecting growing interest in new markets and a strong push for sustainability. The arrival of Cadillac and the revised race lineup mark the start of a new era for the sport, beginning this March.

The countdown is on as anticipation builds for another dramatic year on the world’s most famous tracks.
