The NASCAR Xfinity Series is picking up speed as the 2025 season heads into its second half. Fourteen races have been completed, and the battle for playoff spots is heating up.

There are still twelve regular-season events left on the calendar, keeping fans eager for more surprises. This month, all eyes turn to the return of the Mexico City race at Autรณdromo Hermanos Rodrรญguez, where drivers will compete on the 2.42-mile, 15-turn road course.

It is the first time the Xfinity Series has returned to this historic venue since 2008. Justin Allgaier holds the top spot in the current power rankings.

He has shown impressive form, earning his third win of the year at Nashville Superspeedway. While a crash at Texas Motor Speedway set him back with a 35th-place finish, Allgaier stays in front in both the points standings and this ranking.

Austin Hill isnโ€™t far behind, consistently placing seventh or better in five straight races. His win at Talladega this spring proves he can contend on big tracks, and he has finished strong at almost every stop since Rockingham.

Connor Zilisch bounced back quickly from a lower back injury suffered at Talladega. Since missing one race, the 18-year-old has secured two consecutive second-place finishes.

Zilisch has an excellent record on road courses, winning both of his Xfinity road races since his debut last season. With five more road course events in the regular season, he could climb even higher in points.

Sam Mayer is having a breakout year with four finishes of 14th or better since Rockingham. Though a 26th-place result at โ€œThe Rockโ€ set him back, Mayer is on track to break his personal bests in top fives, top 10s, and average finish.

He will look to add more laps led as he pushes for a playoff spot. Austin Love saw a win at Rockingham erased by a disqualification, yet his victory at Daytona earlier in the season secured his place in the playoff field.

Love has continued to perform with three results of eighth or better in his last four starts. Tyler Creed remains without an Xfinity Series win but sits sixth in the championship standings due to steady points accumulation.

He led 25 laps at Nashville, hinting a breakthrough may be close. Jeb Burton, seeking his best season since 2021, has finished inside the top 15 in four of the last five races.

His second-place run at Talladega shows he can challenge at the front. Other names in the running include Brandon Jones, Harrison Burton, and Sammy Smith, each showing flashes of speed.

Zane Smith, who claimed a victory at Rockingham after Loveโ€™s disqualification, has also faced some poor results and a recent disqualification at Charlotte, but holds onto a spot in the top 10.

Across the board, drivers like Kvapil and Nick Sanchez are pushing to secure playoff positions as the regular season winds down. The competition remains close as teams prepare for the challenge of Mexico City.

The upcoming race at Autรณdromo Hermanos Rodrรญguez will play a key role in determining who moves forward into the playoff fight and who needs to step up their performance. Fans can expect the action to intensify as the field narrows and the championship chase enters its final phase.
