Oliver Bearman received a warning from the stewards after an incident at the Canadian Grand Prix involving Franco Colapinto. The Haas driver attempted to pass Colapinto on the outside at Turn 13 but failed to complete the move on track.

Forced into the run-off at the final chicane, Bearman rejoined the circuit after crossing an orange line, which was against FIA race director guidelines. Despite this, the race outcome was not affected, as Bearman slotted back behind Colapinto with no position changes.

The stewards reviewed Bearman’s explanation after the race. He stated he had no choice but to slightly cross the orange line due to his car’s trajectory, prioritizing safety and avoiding an unsafe re-entry near Colapinto.

Bearman also mentioned that the run-off was dirty and provided limited grip, influencing how he rejoined. He admitted he could have slowed down more in the run-off area, but felt his actions neither created danger nor gave him an advantage.

After considering the details, the stewards concluded Bearman could have done more to avoid running over the orange line. However, since he rejoined safely and gained no position, they issued only a warning instead of a penalty.

This outcome was significant, as a harsher penalty could have affected Bearman’s final result or standing. Despite this, Bearman’s day in Montreal remained challenging.

He finished 11th, just outside the top-10 and missing out on potential points for Haas. The British rookie has been working hard to establish himself this Formula 1 season, learning valuable lessons with each race.

Elsewhere, stewards handled several incidents, including a penalty for Lando Norris after colliding with Oscar Piastri. There were also protests regarding George Russell’s win following a clash with McLaren.

These developments continued the trend of close racing and strict rule enforcement during the 2025 F1 campaign. Bearman stays focused on securing solid finishes alongside teammate Esteban Ocon.

With 28 points so far this season, Haas is in a tight fight in the constructors’ standings. Every steward decision can influence the teams’ progress as the season moves forward.

Looking ahead, Bearman hopes to build momentum after the Canadian Grand Prix. The next race takes place at the Red Bull Ring on June 29, followed by key rounds at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps in July.

Bearman and Haas aim for further progress as the 2025 season unfolds.
