Tony Stewart and Matt Hagan will race under the American Rebel Beer banner during the American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park. This event is the ninth stop on the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule.
Stewart, driving in Top Fuel, leads the current points standings by 76 over Shawn Langdon. Hagan, competing in Funny Car, sits fifth in the rankings, trailing leader Austin Prock by 109 points as the season heats up.
The beer is now sold in 12 states including Virginia and can be found at popular venues like Kid Rock’s bar and Tootsie’s in Nashville. It is also present at many music festivals and other major events throughout the country.
This weekend marks Stewart’s second appearance at Virginia Motorsports Park in Top Fuel and his 29th career Top Fuel start. He is still seeking his first No. 1 qualification or event win at this track.
Hagan, already with 361 Funny Car starts, has raced at Virginia six times. In 2022, Hagan posted an impressive 3.853-second run at 331.45 mph to take the No. 1 qualifying spot.
He also set a track speed record that year at 335.82 mph. At last year’s Virginia NHRA Nationals, both drivers reached the semifinals.
Hagan lost to eventual winner Austin Prock, while Stewart was defeated by Doug Kalitta. Hagan, who grew up in Christiansburg, Virginia, considers this race a homecoming and hopes to deliver a strong performance for his local supporters.
He and his crew plan to use the three qualifying runs on Saturday to secure a better starting spot for race day. The weekend will showcase a bigger role for American Rebel Beer.
Stewart is looking forward to the packed schedule, with all three qualifying sessions held on Saturday. He believes the single-day format allows fans to see every top team in action and gives crews a chance to fine-tune their setups.
With six races left in the regular season, Stewart has a strong shot at the new Regular Season Championship. He feels his car is well-suited for the hotter, tougher summer track conditions.
Stewart has also qualified for the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge after reaching the semifinals at Thunder Valley Nationals. He is set to face Steve Torrence in the challenge and will join fans for a Saturday morning autograph session at the Mission Foods display.
