Charles Leclerc is working with Lewis Hamilton as his teammate for the first time in his Formula 1 career. Both now race for Ferrari, following Hamilton’s long period with Mercedes.
For Leclerc, Hamilton is his fourth teammate in F1 after stints paired with Marcus Ericsson, Sebastian Vettel, and Carlos Sainz.
Leclerc explained that he typically brakes later than other teammates, but Hamilton stands out by pushing that trait even further.
Hamilton continues to focus on projects outside F1, such as Mission 44, an initiative to boost diversity and opportunity in motorsport. Recently, he met with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer between the Spanish and Canadian Grands Prix as part of his efforts.
Leclerc noted that he did not expect to see such strong discipline and organization around these projects, especially with how smoothly Hamilton balances everything with his commitment to the team.
Ferrari is currently third in the constructors’ standings for the 2025 Formula 1 season, with 183 points.
Leclerc sits fifth in the drivers’ standings with 104 points, while Hamilton is in sixth position with 79 points. McLaren leads the team standings with 374 points, as both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are performing strongly, sitting first and second with 198 and 176 points each.
Mercedes holds second in the team competition with 199 points. Recent events in the paddock have caught the attention of fans.
McLaren issued a clear team order after Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collided, while Red Bull has faced scrutiny following a protest controversy. Other highlights from the racing world include a dramatic crash at the Nurburgring and comments from top drivers like Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon about team strategies and challenges.
Looking ahead, the F1 calendar continues with the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring on June 29. The action will shift to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix on July 6, before heading to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on July 27.
Races in Hungary and the Netherlands are slated for August, rounding out a busy racing summer. Across the season, fans have seen a close battle for points and position among drivers and teams.
With races coming up and teams adjusting their strategies, the partnership between Leclerc and Hamilton remains a major talking point.
