The top five in the championship show a mix of established contenders and emerging talent, making the fight for podium positions unpredictable as the season continues.
The race in Jakarta has also changed the standings in the teams’ championship. Porsche has increased its lead to 203 points and pulled 12 points clear of second-place Nissan, who have 191.
McLaren and Mahindra round out the top five, scoring 127 and 121 points, respectively, as they look to improve their positions before the season ends. McLaren’s push is especially noteworthy given their recent strategic adjustments, similar to those seen in Formula 1 contexts like McLaren and Lewis Hamilton at Monaco.
Among the drivers outside the top spots, Jean-Eric Vergne is in sixth with 74 points for DS Penske, followed by his teammate Maximilian Günther with 71. Nick Cassidy for Jaguar and Edoardo Mortara for Mahindra are close behind as well, with 68 and 65 points.
Jake Dennis for Andretti completes the top ten at 59 points, keeping the lower half of the leaderboard competitive with several opportunities for changes before the final round.
The rest of the grid features drivers such as Nyck de Vries for Mahindra with 56 points and Sebastian Buemi at Envision with 52, both working hard to climb up the classification. The teams and drivers are all focused on the next few rounds, where even small results could impact the final championship placements.
Rowland’s advantage makes him the clear championship favorite, but with four races left, teams are still working to close gaps and fight for every point.
Porsche and Nissan, both in the mix for the teams’ title, are refining their strategies for the closing stretch. This season’s standings reflect consistent performance from the Nissan and Porsche outfits, while surprise wins and strong showings from drivers like Ticktum continue to shake up the order. The dynamics are reminiscent of close battles seen in other motorsports, much like when Leclerc denies Ferrari hype with unexpected results.
The scene is set for an exciting finish as competitors prepare for the next round in Berlin, knowing that the title and final podium order remain within reach for several standouts on the grid.
