Howards Cams and Competition Products are main sponsors for his team, and their partnership adds both performance and innovation to the program. Long-term partners like NGK, Reid Rockers, Impact, Goodson Tools and Equipment, Gates Belts, and Robert Rohde with H.E.A.T. also back King’s efforts.
He remains grateful for this support, sharing that these sponsors believe in what his team is building. King manages the program as both driver and owner, while his loyal crew, led by crew chief Bob Peck, handle the car’s preparation and race-day duties.
He and his team attend fan festivals, maintain a strong presence on social media, and engage with fans from the NHRA stage midways.
These efforts help spread the word about their partners and what it takes to race at this level. King says it’s important to keep sharing these stories and showing the true spirit of an independent racer.
The schedule at Norwalk includes two Funny Car qualifying runs on Friday, June 27, and two more on Saturday, June 28.
After four rounds of qualifying, the top 16 cars will advance to compete for a coveted Wally trophy on Sunday, June 29, with the finals broadcast on FOX. King and his team are aiming for consistent runs in qualifying and a strong showing on race day.
With new equipment, improved strategy, and lasting partnerships, King hopes to take his program to the next level at Summit Motorsports Park. His story continues to inspire fans and racers who follow the ups and downs of independent teams.
