Recent results show positive movement for Elliott and his No. 9 Chevrolet team. After scoring third place at the Mexico City road course, Elliott followed up with another top-five result at Pocono.

Elliott is well-known for his road course abilities, ranking as the top active driver in those events with seven career road course wins.

The next stretch of races is important for him: he’ll compete at Atlanta, which is considered his home track, before moving on to events in Chicago and Sonoma.

In NASCAR’s history, only Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon have more road course victories. The upcoming races will challenge drivers on different types of circuits, and Elliott’s team pays close attention to how they can gain an advantage.

Crew chief Alan Gustafson leads the effort in deciding strategies, such as whether to collect stage points or focus solely on racing for the win, depending on how competitive the car is each weekend.

Elliott is open to making bold choices if it means a greater shot at victory.

Chase Briscoe, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, became the latest driver to earn an automatic spot in the playoffs with his recent win at Pocono. This season has seen six first-time winners in the last eight races.

So far, eleven out of sixteen available playoff spots have been locked in by drivers who have taken a race victory. With several opportunities left, five more positions are still up for grabs, making each remaining event more meaningful for contenders like Elliott.

This year also features a new twist with the In-Season Challenge, a special competition that gives drivers a chance at a $1 million bonus.

The top 32 drivers after the Nashville race qualified for this bracket-style challenge, with their seeds based on results in recent races at Michigan, Mexico City, and Pocono.

Each week, paired drivers compete, and the one with the lower finish is eliminated. The head-to-head matchups continue until only one remains, with the winner decided following the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

With high stakes and a packed schedule ahead, consistency and ambition continue to define Chase Elliott’s approach as he chases his first win of the year and aims for a strong playoff position. The coming weeks will be critical, both for individual race victories and for securing a place in NASCAR’s championship quest.
