Seattle Gears Up for Thrilling Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals

The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series stages the 37th Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways, Seattle, on July 24-26, a centerpiece of NHRA’s 75th anniversary.

The event sits mid-season in the tightly contested 2026 campaign, shaping the regular season title battle before the Countdown.

Fans get two qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday, restoring the qualifying format. Expect 12,000hp cars exceeding 340 mph on Pacific Raceways’ quick, scenic surface.

Friday opens with initial qualifying. Saturday delivers the second session and the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge across Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock.

Eliminations run Sunday for an NHRA Diamond Wally, a nod to the milestone season and the event’s heritage in the Pacific Northwest.

The weekend also honors Jim Dunn, a team owner and pioneer with more than 75 years in the sport.

His outfit won Funny Car here in 2008, plus two runner-up finishes.

Around the pits, an updated Nitro Mall and anniversary exhibits underline NHRA’s 75-year story. Last year’s Seattle winners were Shawn Langdon, Matt Hagan, and Dallas Glenn.

Form guide favors Langdon. He owns four wins and seven finals in 2026, leading teammate and reigning champion Doug Kalitta. He, Austin Prock, and Glenn also captured Mission Challenge wins.

Funny Car remains tight. Hagan, victorious at Bristol’s Thunder Valley and the category’s 1,000th race, chases points leader Ron Capps, a three-time champion with three wins this season.

In Pro Stock, local favorite Glenn returns as leader and defending Seattle winner, having set speed records last year. KB Titan teammate Greg Anderson and multi‑winner Matt Hartford remain threats.

Festivities begin Thursday, July 23, with the $15,000 Mission Foods Tournament at Muckleshoot Casino Resort, including free fan registration. Later, NHRA FanFest offers autographs and meet-and-greets.

A free Saturday afterparty at the casino’s Galaxy lounge features Mini KISS. Pre-race ceremonies include the SealMaster Track Walk and driver introductions.

Pit access brings fans close to warm‑ups and rapid turnarounds, reinforcing NHRA’s open-paddock appeal. On-track standards remain strict, but interaction stays front and center.
