The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series advanced Friday qualifying at National Trail Raceway, Hebron, to beat incoming rain. Cooler conditions delivered pace, with Lee Callaway, Del Worsham, and Jason Harris leading.
Officials moved the session forward by an hour. With only two attempts allowed, execution on the opening run proved decisive for lane choice and race-day strategy.
Callaway delivered a career-best 3.055 seconds at 282.31 mph in the PBR-backed Scott Palmer Racing dragster, banking Top Fuel’s No.1 and crucial data for a consistency-focused race setup.

Gary Pritchett followed with a 3.106 at 274.06 mph. He draws recent event winner Scott Palmer in round one, shaping an early tactical duel between contrasting launch profiles.
In Funny Car, Del Worsham topped qualifying at 3.291 seconds and 272.23 mph. He underlined the importance of banking an early number on a tightening, tricky surface.
Dale Creasy Jr., undefeated in IHRA this season, missed the field with 3.629 seconds and placed ninth. The setback dents momentum and reshapes eliminations seeding.
Jason Harris continued his title-leading Pro Mod form. His “Party Time” ’69 Camaro posted 3.601 at 210.08 mph, earning the top seed and a valuable first-round bye.

Harris credited a cohesive package from ProLine and Harts Charger support partners. The combination delivered efficiency through the middle and preserved driveability for eliminations.
Kye Kelley qualified second at 3.608 and 203.34 mph, with recent winner Tony Wilson third at 3.611 and 207.85 mph. The margins suggest a volatile ladder.
Dwayne Rice headed Mountain Motor Pro Stock with 4.046 at 177.44 mph in his XCalibur Race Engines Camaro, narrowly shading Johnny Pluchino’s 4.054 at 178.50 mph.
The class showed remarkable parity. Just seven hundredths covered the top sixteen, increasing the premium on lights and early gear-change discipline.
Bubba Stanton paced Outlaw Pro Mod at 3.558 and 214.80 mph in a red Quarter-Max Racing Camaro. He also holds the IHRA class record at 3.501 seconds.
In Top Alcohol Dragster, Joey Severance led with 3.465 at 222.44 mph, ahead of injected nitro runners Rich McPhillips and Jamie Noonan.
Chip Beverett topped Alcohol Funny Car with 3.647 at 211.76 mph, setting a marker for tune‑up range and clutch application.
Additional No.1 qualifiers were Ryan Hill in Fuel Altered, Tony Scott in Pro Stock, Chris Smith on Nitro Harley, and David Marshall in Outlaw Snowmobile.
Eliminations begin Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern, with nitro rounds from 12:30 p.m. Live coverage streams on SpeedSport1 and the IHRA YouTube channel.
