The Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series introduces the Quarter-Max Pro Extreme Exhibition Class at Tulsa on October 23-24 and Xtreme Raceway Park on November 6-7, testing viability for 2027.
MWDRS uses the exhibition to measure racer interest, sponsor value, fan appeal, and scheduling fit. Owner Keith Haney says feedback will inform whether Pro Extreme becomes a full championship class.
Quarter-Max Race Cars signs on as title sponsor. Owner Clyde Scott backs the concept, aligning the brand with a class designed for accessibility and high-impact performance.

The rules relax many power-adder limits to broaden competitiveness, yet maintain guardrails. Double power-adder combinations are banned, as are nitro-powered entries, protecting safety and cost control.
The format features an eight-car qualified field and three qualifying sessions. Two run Friday night, one Saturday morning, followed by eliminations after the first round of the Stroud Safety Pro Mod on Saturday.
Payouts scale to encourage entries and reward depth. The winner earns $10,000, runner-up $2,500, semifinalists $1,250, and quarterfinalists $750. Entry is $450 per car; crew passes cost $65.
Optional testing is available for $350. Safety standards mirror NHRA, IHRA, or PDRA requirements. Valid chassis certifications are mandatory, with an NHRA inspector on-site for inspections and renewals.
Drivers cannot double-enter in other MWDRS classes, including Stroud Safety Pro Mod. That reduces scheduling risks and preserves the integrity of each bracket.
Haney frames the Quarter-Max partnership as strategic. The aim is to add value for racers and spectators, not simply expand the class roster without purpose or sustainability.
A potential September Smackdown appearance at Flying H Drag Strip remains under consideration, pending sponsorship. For now, the two confirmed events will provide decisive data.
