A crowd at Maryland International Raceway watches the inaugural NHRA Potomac Nationals, presented by JEGS, where Austin Prock, Shawn Langdon, Greg Anderson, and Angie Smith deliver class wins.
Prock claims his first Funny Car victory of 2026, beating Jack Beckman in the final. His 3.956s at 324.20 mph edges Beckman’s 3.971s at 323.50 mph for a decisive breakthrough.
It is Prock’s 22nd career win and his first since moving to Tasca Racing after leaving John Force Racing. The Ford Mustang driver converts gains into form when it matters.

Prock’s path includes the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge win on Saturday, then eliminations victories over Matt Hagan, Spencer Hyde, and points leader Ron Capps to reach a pressure‑laden final.
Top Fuel swings on a photo finish as Shawn Langdon defeats teammate Doug Kalitta for his third straight win. Langdon stops the clocks at 3.762 seconds and 334.90 mph.
Kalitta’s margin of defeat is 0.0002 seconds, underlining an operation executing at a consistently high level. Langdon also sets a 3.718 at 338.00 track record earlier in the weekend.
The result extends Langdon’s championship lead to 76 points over Kalitta, strengthening Kalitta Motorsports’ control of the early-season narrative.
Greg Anderson keeps Pro Stock momentum by beating points leader Dallas Glenn in the final. His Chevrolet Camaro delivers a 6.472 at 212.46 mph to close out a disciplined day.
Anderson earlier resets the track mark with a 6.464 in eliminations and now holds a 10–1 record in finals against Glenn. Favourable track conditions reward clean execution.
Angie Smith caps the weekend with Pro Stock Motorcycle victory, clocking 6.683 at 201.52 mph on her Denso Auto Parts Buell to beat Ryan Oehler in the final.
The win marks the 200th by a woman in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and ends Smith’s near four‑year wait. Husband Matt Smith returns trackside after hospitalization.
Strong attendance confirms the event’s immediate relevance at MIR and adds momentum to a 20‑race season. The series moves next to Epping for the New England Nationals on June 5–7.
