Doriane Pin joins Citroen as an official Formula E development driver, with Gen4 running planned before September homologation. The F1 Academy champion steps into Stellantis’s electric program later this year.
Pin already works with Peugeot’s World Endurance program and holds a Stellantis Motorsport deal. She also affiliates with Mercedes’ Formula 1 team, broadening her technical exposure and simulator workload.
Citroen plans initial Gen3 mileage to accelerate adaptation, then targeted Gen4 tests. The program aims to firm up software, energy management, and correlation ahead of manufacturer sign-off.

Her arrival adds momentum to Formula E’s push to widen female participation. The championship runs structured opportunities alongside teams, creating defined evaluation windows during pre-season and manufacturer test days.
Pin is expected at the November all-female test at Jarama. The initiative previously hosted 19 drivers, six embedded with teams, and now serves as a key selection tool.
Stellantis expands its Formula E footprint, confirming long-term deals for Nick Cassidy and Theo Pourchaire. Mitch Evans is set to race for Opel, strengthening the group’s multi-brand presence.
Citroen and Opel will use Gen4 hardware supplied with key motor components from Mercedes High Performance Powertrains. That technical link deepens Pin’s crossover with Mercedes’ systems and methodologies.
Pin’s profile is built on F1 Academy success with Prema and recent Formula 1 test mileage at Silverstone. Her endurance experience at Peugeot complements the energy-management demands of Formula E.
Jeff Dodds emphasises increasing female opportunity since mid-2023. Drivers including Abbi Pulling, Juju Noda, Nerea Marti, and Bianca Bustamante have gained roles, indicating genuine traction rather than window dressing.
For Citroen, the competitive upside lies in quicker simulator-to-track correlation and robust feedback during Gen4 sign-off. That work should streamline race preparation and early-season setup pathways.
Pin still needs representative race mileage to become a seat contender. But the combination of Stellantis backing, Mercedes links, and structured test access gives her a credible, merit-based route.
