Ollie Bearman reiterates Ferrari remains a long-term goal while committing to Haas duties, days after Charles Leclerc agreed a new multi-year Ferrari deal.

Leclerc’s renewal anchors Ferrari’s project around its lead driver, continuing a partnership that began in 2019 after his Ferrari Driver Academy graduation in 2016.

Bearman joined the academy in 2022, deputised for an unwell Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and finished seventh on debut for Ferrari.

Now in his second Haas season, the 21-year-old’s form sustains Ferrari interest, yet team principal Ayao Komatsu expresses confidence Haas can retain him without drama.

“Joining Ferrari is my target one day, but my focus is Haas.”

Asked about Leclerc’s renewal, Bearman praised the continuity and stressed he had no involvement in discussions, keeping attention on Haas and immediate execution.

His 10th place in Canada added another point, though he admitted the result flattered Haas as drivers adapted to an upgrade that changed car characteristics.

Seventh in Jeddah on debut underlined Bearman’s readiness.

Understanding the package required mileage and setup refinement, with the team prioritising correlation and drivability over headline speed to stabilise performance.

Monaco should mask Haas’s straight-line deficit, placing emphasis on qualifying, as Bearman noted while eyeing Saturday gains and Ferrari’s Monaco GP update narrative.

Qualifying in Monaco will decide our race.

Ferrari’s historic strength in the Principality, highlighted by a recent winning streak, only sharpens the allure of a future seat for the Haas rookie.

Bearman’s season also benefits from his race ban being lifted, removing uncertainty and allowing uninterrupted preparation and track time during a crucial development phase.

For Haas, retaining Bearman offers continuity alongside Ferrari power-unit ties, while Ferrari’s broader rebuild, seen in recent momentum, ensures scrutiny of his trajectory continues.
