Mercedes Reveals Bold New F1 Safety Car for Major Milestone

Mercedes introduces the AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ as Formula 1’s new safety car, debuting at the Hungarian Grand Prix. It marks 30 years of Mercedes supplying the role.

The car becomes the 14th official F1 safety car. Its headline change is variable all-wheel drive, a first for the position and a clear response to traction demands.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 producing 612bhp and 850Nm, equivalent to about 450kW. That output supports rapid deployment and stable pace-setting on cold tyres.
