Index-class racing sharpened his staging discipline and reaction management, foundations he expects to convert into pace and consistency in the quicker, more demanding Top Alcohol environment.

Randy Meyer Racing oversaw licensing across multiple venues, escalating from installation laps to full passes as procedures, reference points, and cockpit workload became second nature.

Early runs at Dragway 42 provided a low-distraction setting. Kalitta completed full-distance attempts, executed parachute deployment cleanly, and reported rising confidence with each incremental step.

Licensing at Dragway 42 culminated in clean full passes and on-time parachute deployment.

Meyer highlights Kalitta’s receptiveness to instruction, calling him among the most coachable drivers the team has licensed, a trait that accelerates learning curves in Top Alcohol’s tight performance window.

Support structures are robust. Guidance from Doug Kalitta, plus inputs from Shawn Langdon and J.R. Todd, complements Meyer’s program and reinforces feedback loops between Top Fuel and Top Alcohol.

Randy Meyer praises Kalitta as “one of the most coachable” drivers his team has licensed.

The Brainerd debut precedes a high-profile appearance at the NHRA U.S. Nationals, an event Kalitta has attended for years and views as the category’s crown jewel.

He also targets the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Great Lakes Nationals, a home-state outing expected to draw significant family and local support, adding useful pressure to his acclimatisation.

Kalitta credits Connie Kalitta, Chad Head, and Doug Kalitta for enabling this step, and acknowledges Randy, Mary, JJ, and the wider Meyer crew for structured preparation and trackside guidance.

The objectives are pragmatic: consolidate procedures, build repeatability, and convert test pace into race-day execution as the 2026 NHRA season intensifies.

Kalitta has attended the U.S. Nationals roughly 20 times, underscoring this debut’s personal significance.
