Bandero Premium Tequila expands its presence at the 72nd NHRA U.S. Nationals, September 4–7 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, fielding entries in Top Fuel and Funny Car.

Alexis DeJoria leads the Funny Car effort, with Ida Zetterström taking on Top Fuel. Former teammates reunite under the Team Bandero banner for drag racing’s most prestigious weekend.

Bandero aligned with Zetterström in 2025 alongside DeJoria at JCM Racing. The 2023 FIA European Top Fuel champion now races a Shawn Reed Racing dragster carrying Bandero and GlobalSKU branding.

“Indy is where you show up in a big way,” said Bandero co-founder Jonathan Kendrick.

Bandero co-founder Jonathan Kendrick frames Indianapolis as the critical showcase, praising DeJoria’s efforts to promote Bandero and underlining the significance of two accomplished female drivers in Nitro categories.

DeJoria won the 2014 U.S. Nationals Funny Car title.

Zetterström also appeared with Bandero and GlobalSKU at April’s Charlotte 4-Wide Nationals. She emphasizes fan connection and gratitude for another chance to race at Indy in Top Fuel.

DeJoria, the 2014 U.S. Nationals Funny Car winner, now campaigns the John Force Racing-prepared Bandero Café Funny Car. The pair race for different teams but share a unified brand objective.

From a competitive standpoint, dual Bandero entries amplify visibility and data gathering across categories. Qualifying starts Friday night, with FS1 and FOX airing coverage September 6 and 7.

Form guides suggest a tightly compressed Nitro field, as seen at the recent NHRA Brainerd races and wider Brainerd weekend storylines. Execution under pressure at Indy remains decisive.

The DeJoria–Zetterström reunion adds narrative interest, but results will turn on lane reads, setups, and reaction times. Bandero’s broadened program positions the brand prominently on NHRA’s biggest stage.
