Founded in 2009, the series pairs distinct Sportsman philosophies. Top Sportsman emphasizes door-car horsepower, while Top Dragster prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency, yielding compelling cross-category eliminations.

K&K Racing returns with Kayden Wicke in a 2006 Dodge Stratus. Wicke previously swept Top Sportsman and overall Quick 32 honors at Empire Dragway, underlining form heading into Cayuga.

Other Top Sportsman entrants strengthen depth. Dave Burchell fields a 2007 Pontiac GTO with 582ci ProCharged power. David J. Powell brings a 2012 Ford Shelby after last year’s third.

Wilson & Gray Racing also returns as defending 2025 champions. Their record across the series, including Canadian Nationals successes, sets a clear benchmark for consistency under pressure.

Top Dragster is stacked. 2024 PDRA Elite champion Kyle Harris fields a supercharged 1932 Austin Bantam, The Altered Beast, joined by Peter Carpenter, Brooklyn Noakes, Madison Graham, and Joe Angione.

Series director Bruce Mehlenbacher underscores entry diversity and strength. The mixed ladder demands adaptability, with reaction-time discipline and tune-up range likely deciding elimination matchups.

Beyond trophies, NHRA grade points are pivotal. Strong weekends can unlock berths at major NHRA events, shaping season strategy for teams balancing risk and consistency.

Sunday adds the Engineered Racing Services Bounty Hunter Award. Saturday’s winner carries a bounty. Beat them Sunday to claim it, or repeat and bank the bonus yourself.

The Engineered Racing Services Bounty Hunter Award raises Sunday’s risk-reward stakes for every contender.

The Spectacular’s support card broadens appeal. Can-Am Stock/Super Stock, Nostalgia Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, and Junior Dragster share track time with Pro Modified.

Fans also get jet-powered dragster runs, live music, and camping, completing a full weekend program.

Timing overlaps broader storylines around the U.S. Nationals, further intensifying attention on performance trends and points momentum.
