“The car’s just been great. The adjustments have been great, and we were able to just keep building,” Allegrucci says.
Pace across the field compresses late. Alex Anderson posts 7.719 at 178.52 mph in Q3, while James Betz records 7.723 at 178.76 mph but slides three places.
Reigning series champion Mark Pawuk executes the standout recovery, vaulting from P17 to P4 with a 7.744 at 179.90 mph as conditions improve.
Allegrucci retains P1 in the final session and secures a competition bye for race day. The last run is tidy but short of the session’s three quickest efforts.

“We just have to do us,” Allegrucci says, emphasizing discipline over risk.
Friday’s opener sees Betz initially set the pace at 7.822 and 172.10 mph in his Mustang Cobra Jet. Defending event winner Taylor Dietsch carries the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown bounty into eliminations.
Key first-round pairings add jeopardy. Tony Scott gets the first shot at the bonus. Nash, second in points, meets Mike Clark, while Pawuk faces Kim Shirley.
