New components and clutch refinements target launch consistency and adaptability. The car responds, underpinning Hyde’s best qualifying of the season against a 23-car field.
Across five sessions at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Hyde clocks a 3.944s at 319.45 mph in Q3, third quickest of the round.
That run yields two bonus points, part of five collected for quick times across multiple sessions. Those points matter for Countdown to the Championship seeding and validate the team’s direction in variable conditions.
Hyde is also drawn into the PlayNHRA All-Star Callout when four-time champion Matt Hagan selects him in Q4. Hagan wins the matchup, but Hyde’s pace remains competitive.
“Now that we know we are moving in the right direction, we can head into the Countdown a lot more confidently,” Hyde says.
Race day starts from fourth, with Paul Lee the opening opponent. Hyde had beaten Lee twice before, but a misfire at launch proves decisive and ends the run early.
The setback does not obscure the weekend’s gains. Hyde banks data, confirms the clutch window, and preserves a Top 10 berth entering NHRA’s 75th anniversary Countdown phase.

Attention now turns to the inaugural Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan. The event is set for September 25-27.
Qualifying is scheduled for September 18-19, with Sunday eliminations opening the Countdown. The target is to convert recent gains into round wins.
