Nitro Chaos confirms a major 2027 payout uplift, announced at Cordova Dragway’s 2026 finale, guaranteeing $10,000 to win in the RBS Superchargers ‘A’ Field at every round.
The increase represents the series’ highest prize to date, enabled by DMP Awnings and new partners Grand Prix Auto Sports Center and Spell Paving.
Series co-owner Chris Graves stresses the uplift extends through the ladder, with all ‘A’ Field positions increased and a refined format designed to sharpen competition.

The goal is pragmatic: cushion rising nitromethane and diesel costs while sustaining an accessible stage for outlaw nitro teams rooted in grassroots drag racing.
Five events headline 2027, reflecting broader multi-event calendars across motorsport, including the F2 2027 calendar. Twelve cars qualify on race day; the quickest eight reach ‘A’, with ninth to twelfth forming the CP-Carrillo ‘B’ Field.
Each race guarantees a $36,750 purse, billed as the richest single-event nitro payout outside NHRA professional categories. The top five in points share the DMP Awnings championship fund.
The series has scaled quickly since 2021, evolving from a single meeting to a traveling points championship under “run what you brung” rules requiring 80% nitro and engines ahead of the driver.

Eighty-eight drivers have scored points, illustrating momentum within independent drag racing. The growth mirrors wider scheduling expansion, notably IMSA’s 2028 calendar expansion.
The guaranteed structure should stabilise team planning and deepen car counts, enhancing ‘A’ Field quality as operations budget fuel, maintenance, and travel with more certainty. Similar trajectories appear in IndyCar team planning for 2027.
Commercial backing remains extensive, led by RBS Superchargers and CP-Carrillo, with Laris Motorsports Insurance and Driven Racing Oil reinforcing technical resilience and consistent participation.
Additional contributors include Twisted Shifters, 360-Steel, Dove Fuels, Taylor Motorsports Products, RM Race Trailer, Pro Things, Star Racer Belts, Carter-Maxwell, McKinney Motorsports, and Racing Junk.
Nitro Chaos targets a stronger 2027 grid, with clear incentives and a concise format expected to attract returning teams and new entrants. Fans should anticipate tighter competition across the five rounds.
