Terry Haddock qualifies 16th at Texas Motorplex for the Texas NHRA FallNationals, then exits round one despite a personal-best 4.000 seconds at 315.21 mph against top seed Jack Beckman.

A broken component on Friday costs the team a second qualifying attempt, compressing setup work. Saturday’s 4.033 at 310.97 secures the spot, but leaves limited data versus the class leaders.

Mechanical issue on Friday forces Haddock to miss Q2.

Haddock credits the Concho Supply Funny Car crew for resilience and thanks Concho Supply, T&D Express, P&C Cable, and Priority Systems. The target remains a first three-second pass this season.

Race day brings improvement and jeopardy. Haddock runs 4.000 at 315.21 to Beckman’s 3.884 at 335.12, then fights a stuck-wide-open throttle beyond the finish after crowd-pleasing, long burnouts.

Personal best set: 4.000 seconds at 315.21 mph.

The No.16 versus No.1 pairing under NHRA’s elimination ladder leaves no strategic margin in the Countdown. Missing a session narrows the tuning window after earlier cylinder-light issues compromised the baseline.

Even so, the crew refines the setup sufficiently to make the cut and advance performance. The incremental gains suggest a car with headroom once consistency meets the required traction window.

Off-track, Haddock invests in engagement. He attends Concho Supply’s Champions Dinner, Pre-Stage FanFest, and a Champions Club Q&A, praising the Meyer family’s stewardship and hospitality for European and British visitors.

The programme now shifts to Las Vegas. The team targets clean, repeatable three-second runs at the Las Vegas Nationals from October 29 to November 1 to convert promise into position.

Next stop: Las Vegas Nationals, October 29–November 1.
