Inception Racing will contest the 2027 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship full-time in GTD, switching to the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R under a strengthened customer alliance.

Brendan Iribe and Frederik Schandorff commit to the full season in the #70 entry, with Ollie Millroy joining for IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.

The move aligns Inception with GM and Pratt Miller support, while continuing operational backing from Optimum Motorsport. It targets stronger technical resources, spares access, and setup knowledge across GTD venues.

Sporting director Bas Leinders highlights the program’s pedigree and fanbase, noting the established culture within Corvette Racing and the immediate rapport formed during early collaboration.

Strategically, the Z06 GT3.R offers robust factory data and Balance of Performance familiarity, valuable for Bronze-inclusive lineups. That should stabilise race pace and simplify weekend decision-making.

Inception commits to a full-time 2027 GTD campaign with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

Millroy’s Endurance Cup role locks consistency for longer races, reinforcing traffic management, stint length planning, and night-running execution alongside Iribe and Schandorff.

The trio already owns credible markers: a first IMSA victory at Indianapolis in 2025 and a podium at Virginia International Raceway in 2026, evidencing versatility across contrasting circuits.

Iribe’s Bronze credentials add upside. He claimed the 2023 Bob Akin Award and secured LMGT3 pole at the 2024 Le Mans, underlining qualifying speed and discipline in high-pressure environments.

Iribe, Schandorff, and Millroy took their first IMSA win together at Indianapolis in 2025.

Inception’s IMSA trajectory is steady. A part-time debut at the 2021 Petit Le Mans evolved into sustained full-season campaigns, building processes, pitstop execution, and reliability metrics year on year.

Corvette Racing program manager Andrea Hidalgo welcomes the addition, viewing Inception as a benchmark GTD outfit whose trust should strengthen the platform’s footprint across the 2027 IMSA grid.

The wider competitive picture also intensifies, as reflected in the evolving field within the 2027 IMSA driver lineups and developments such as TDS Racing’s planned return.

Partnership with GM and Pratt Miller deepens the Z06 GT3.R presence across IMSA in 2027.

Execution will decide the ceiling. Clean out-laps, conservative risk in multi-class traffic, and effective caution timing should dictate whether regular podiums accompany the headline switch.

On balance, the Corvette move tightens the team’s technical loop while retaining a proven driver core, offering a realistic pathway to contend for Endurance Cup silverware and consistent GTD points.
