Formula E driver Zane Maloney returns to rallying after three years, contesting Rally Barbados from May 29–31. Lola’s competitor partners co-driver Luke Staffner in a Porsche 992 GT Rally.
Barbados’s flagship event is renowned for compact, technical stages and intense local competition. This edition features 19 stages and 123 entries, creating a busy timetable and minimal margin for error.
Maloney’s last appearance came in 2023. He won the Friday-night Sol Super Special at Bushy Park, but a crash on day two curtailed his challenge.

Since then he has focused on the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, driving for Lola Yamaha. Even so, he has maintained rally ambitions alongside his single-seater programme.
Event director Neil Barnard confirmed Maloney’s entry during a media briefing, noting his pedigree. Maloney became the 2022 King of the Hill winner at 18, driving a Skoda Fabia Rally2.
Commercial support comes from Rock Hard Cement, Bushy Park Barbados, MJT FBO, Stone Atelier, Flo, and Maloney Racing. The package underlines a serious programme rather than a one-off appearance.
Switching between Formula E and rallying demands adaptability. Pace-note discipline, variable grip, and risk management differ from street-circuit energy use, yet the crossover sharpens car control and decision-making under pressure.

Maloney plans to contest King of the Hill and the main rally in 2026 with the Porsche 992 Rally GT. The schedule offers mileage and a platform to benchmark progress.
His return adds profile to an already strong entry list. The focus now is execution: clean stages, efficient tyre use, and a measured push to convert potential into results.
