The Mid-West Drag Racing Series stripped Jacob McNeal Racing of all points from the Shakedown at M’Town at US 131, placing McNeal on probation for the 2026 season.

MWDRS strips all Shakedown points and places Jacob McNeal on season-long probation.

The ruling follows a post-race inspection that measured the Pro Mod Cuda’s blower overdrive at 98 percent, above the 92 percent limit set in MWDRS regulations.

Officials discovered the violation on May 30 after McNeal’s semifinal win over points leader Aaron Wells. Wells was reinstated to the final as a consequence.

The car had cleared pre-race technical checks. A targeted spot inspection after the semifinal triggered the immediate penalty.

MWDRS formalized the decision on June 1 in a statement from Race Director Ellen Eschenbacher and Lead Tech Inspector Josh Scott, citing a breach of blower overdrive rules.

Blower overdrive read 98%, above the 92% cap in MWDRS rules.

Sanctions include forfeiture of all Shakedown points and season-long probation for McNeal. Any additional infraction during probation will prompt a full-season suspension.

Any violation during probation will trigger a full-season suspension.

McNeal’s team attributes the infraction to a mid-event blower change after round two. A replacement unit allegedly carried an incorrect pulley ratio, per a now-deleted social media video.

The series has neither confirmed nor refuted that account. The case highlights spares management and ratio verification risks under tight turnarounds.

Competitively, the penalty dents McNeal’s points position and resets momentum after a strong weekend. It reinforces MWDRS’s emphasis on technical compliance.

The season continues with the Northern Nationals on July 31–August 1 at US 131, marking the championship’s 10th anniversary and keeping scrutiny on enforcement.
