INDYCAR hits halfway with the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at WWTR in Madison, Illinois this weekend. The race could re-shape the title fight around Alex Palou’s points cushion.

Palou’s No.10 HRC Chip Ganassi Racing Honda leads by 62 over Kyle Kirkwood. Extend that margin here and a fourth straight title, fifth in six years, comes into sharper focus.

Short ovals have not been Palou’s natural strength, yet improvement is clear. He won Iowa’s second race last year and the 2024 Indianapolis 500, a defining triumph.

His WWTR average finish is 10.7 over seven starts, with a best of fourth earlier this year. That profile invites rivals to target a points haul on Sunday.
