Four Australian juniors will contest the inaugural Kanga Kids USA Junior Dragster Tour at Bristol Dragway, Tennessee, from July 10 to 18, aligned with the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals.

The program, coordinated by Michael Bennett, targets more than results. It develops confidence, resilience, and racecraft while mapping clear international pathways for emerging drivers.

Inaugural Kanga Kids USA Tour runs July 10–18 at Bristol’s Thunder Valley alongside the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals.

Junior Dragsters have served as a dependable development ladder since 1992. The category introduces structured competition for drivers aged six to eighteen, with many graduates advancing into professional ranks.

The schedule opens with the Mike Bos Chassis Craft Jr. Dragster Nationals from July 10–12. It then rolls straight into the Right Trailers NHRA JDRL Eastern Conference Finals from July 13–18 at Thunder Valley.

Field depth is the headline. More than 600 junior racers typically enter the Eastern Finals, dwarfing Australia’s biggest event, where 500 compete across all categories and just 68 are juniors.

Eastern Finals fields regularly exceed 600 junior racers, presenting a major step up in scale and intensity.

Competition spans multiple age and performance classes, with speeds up to 85 mph. The tour reinforces strict mechanical safety, disciplined staging, and consistent sportsmanship aligned with NHRA standards.

Regulatory exposure matters. Operating under NHRA frameworks complements Australian ANDRA grounding, sharpening adaptability and procedural understanding that will serve these drivers long term.

The Kanga Kids lineup blends proven champions with consistent contenders. Zayne Condello is a three‑time Australian National Champion. Piper Bennett is the 2024 New South Wales Junior Champion. Luca and Savanna Lamattina are multiple‑time national runners‑up.

Backing from Simpson Race Products Australia, the National Drag Racing Championship, NHRA Division 2, ANDRA, and experienced racers adds depth. It secures equipment quality, data support, and mentorship across a demanding week.

Simpson Race Products Australia and sanctioning bodies underpin safety, equipment quality, and driver coaching throughout the tour.

For Australia’s junior ecosystem, this is a strategic benchmark. It tests drivers in larger fields, under tighter turnarounds, and against seasoned rivals, accelerating development without compromising safety or standards.

The 2026 Kanga Kids USA Junior Dragster Tour underscores growing Australia–US collaboration and gives rising talent a credible platform to validate potential on an international stage.

Condello, Bennett, and the Lamattina siblings headline Australia’s bid to convert domestic pedigree into international results.
