The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from July 9 to 12, gathering current stars and heritage machinery under the theme The Rivals – Epic Racing Duels.

Top Formula 1 teams confirm significant programs, turning the hillclimb into a high-profile showcase rather than a competition, with clear marketing and technical storylines.

Mercedes leads the charge. Kimi Antonelli makes his Goodwood debut on Thursday, while reserve Fred Vesti drives the W13 from Friday to Sunday in a refreshed 2026 team livery.

Ferrari marks 75 years since its first Formula 1 victory, achieved by Jose Froilan Gonzalez at the 1951 British Grand Prix. Expect prominent displays connecting milestones to modern programs.

McLaren’s Lando Norris appears on Goodwood House’s balcony on Saturday alongside Valentino Rossi. Norris also tackles the hill in the MCL60, McLaren’s 2023 F1 car, with reserve Leonardo Fornaroli running Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

Fornaroli shares historic duties with Bruno Senna and heritage driver Rob Garofall in the 1993 MP4/8 and MP4/8B, plus James Hunt’s M23 from his 1976 title season, now at its 50-year mark.

Red Bull fields Isack Hadjar, reserve Yuki Tsunoda, and long-time demonstrator Patrick Friesacher. Sister team Racing Bulls brings Liam Lawson, Arvid Lindblad, and 2025 Super Formula champion Ayumu Iwasa, emphasizing junior pathway depth.

Alpine showcases the E20, the Lotus-badged chassis that Kimi Raikkonen used to win Abu Dhabi 2012. Pierre Gasly runs on Thursday, with Franco Colapinto taking over on Saturday.

Alpine’s roster also includes reserve Paul Aron, F2 racer Alex Dunne, and F1 Academy winner Nina Gademan. The spread highlights a clear development pathway across single-seater tiers.

Williams marks 30 years since Damon Hill’s title with a restored FW18. Hill and Team Principal James Vowles share the driving, building on momentum from the recent British Grand Prix weekend.

Damon Hill returns to the FW18 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his 1996 world title.

Reserve Luke Browning and F1 Academy adviser Jamie Chadwick handle the FW08C, the model central to Keke Rosberg’s 1982 championship, reinforcing Williams’ heritage narrative.

Aston Martin runs reserve Jak Crawford and driver ambassador Jessica Hawkins in the AMR25, the 2025-season car. Both also visit the Pirelli-presented Goodwood Fan Zone, extending outreach via recent team news storylines.

Goodwood’s blend of era-defining machines and active drivers offers teams a platform to connect history with future ambitions. The hillclimb remains a showcase, but reputations and narratives are very much at stake.
