A Disney-inspired Formula 1 replica helmet sells for £151,000 at charity auction, setting the record for an unworn F1 helmet at public sale. All proceeds support Make-A-Wish International.
The Disney x Formula 1 Fuel the Magic Helmet results from a collaboration between Disney, Formula 1, and Memento Exclusives, which runs F1 Authentics, to support children with critical illnesses.
Twenty current F1 drivers sign the piece, including Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Kimi Antonelli, and Pierre Gasly, a Make-A-Wish ambassador. Autographs were gathered during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone.

The sale eclipses two key benchmarks. F1 Authentics previously raised £112,000 from Max Verstappen’s 2023 Canadian Grand Prix suit, and Alexander Albon’s race-used 2022 Singapore helmet reached £84,000.
Several factors drive the premium: a one-off charity objective, a Disney crossover with global reach, authentication through F1 Authentics, and breadth of signatures that span champions and rising prospects.
The helmet presents a matte black base with vivid red and yellow accents. Prominent Mickey Mouse artwork integrates with discreet Make-A-Wish branding to underline the charitable purpose.
Bell Racing manufactures the piece. Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, designs the livery under creative direction from Bobby Kim, Disney’s global creative director for consumer products.
A custom presentation box and plexiglass display case accompany the helmet, alongside a certificate of authenticity signed by Iwan and Kim.

A second version will be exhibited at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim from August 14–16, offering fans a close look at the design and the collaboration’s storytelling.
For Formula 1, the result underscores the commercial pull of crossover projects. Charity framing, strong provenance, and driver participation can expand audiences beyond core fans and stimulate higher-value bidding.
The driver roster also adds competitive resonance. Verstappen’s profile, reinforced by his recent achievements and historic win, remains a significant demand driver in memorabilia markets.
That momentum complements Red Bull’s broader narrative, highlighted by an unbreakable record run, and helps explain cross-team interest in items signed by multiple competitors.
Ultimately, every pound raised goes to Make-A-Wish International, supporting life-changing experiences for children facing serious illnesses worldwide.
