F1 ACADEMY confirms its Rookie Test returns in 2026, alongside a new Rookie Training Camp at Loughborough University, August 25-27, plus on-track running at Circuito de Navarra, September 9-11.

The initiative targets the strongest female talent from an expanding, diverse pool, building a clearer pathway into professional single-seaters through structured selection, development, and objective evaluation.

Last year’s inaugural Rookie Test converted potential into opportunity. Seven drivers progressed to full-season seats for 2026, while two earned Wild Card outings, validating the assessment model and thresholds.

The 2026 programme blends off-track science with on-track execution. In partnership with Loughborough University, F1 ACADEMY applies research-led profiling to guide individual training, readiness benchmarks, and return-on-training measurements.

Eighteen eligible drivers attend the camp from August 25-27. Testing includes physiological profiling, cognitive assessments, and VALD screening, plus workshops on strength, lifestyle, resilience, and behaviours underpinning elite performance.

Circuito de Navarra hosts the on-track phase on September 9-11. At the Rookie Test, drivers join engineers for meetings, briefings, and data reviews, complete media training, then bank mileage in F1 ACADEMY machinery.

The 2026 selection features Alexia Danielsson, Rosanne Den Drijver, Jordyn Deza-Martin, Eva Dorrestijn, Victoria Farfus, Autumn Fisher, Zoe Florescu, and Luna Fluxa.

Eighteen drivers have been selected for the 2026 Rookie Training Camp and on-track test.

They are joined by Yana Kapoor, Kareen Kaur, Carmen Kraav, Ella Lähdemaa, Sara Matsui, Ginevra Panzeri, Kokoro Sato, Milla Sjöstrand, Clara Stiebleichinger, and Sofia Zanfari.

Performance and Talent Development manager Katie Denver stresses a holistic model, combining physical metrics, mental skills, and behavioural profiling with meaningful mileage to accelerate readiness for high-level single-seater competition.

“Holistic development under pressure” is central: physical, mental, and behavioural progress aligned with real track mileage.

Loughborough’s Director of Sport, Lou Gear, frames the partnership around shared performance environments and evidence-based coaching, aiming to broaden opportunity and sustain female participation through clear, supported progression.

Partnership focus: evidence-based coaching and high-performance environments to grow women’s motorsport pathways.

The programme lands amid a shifting top-tier landscape, reflected by the recent Aston Martin F1 stake, underscoring how funding, pathways, and performance structures continue to evolve across motorsport.

That wider context matters. Manufacturer links and technical collaboration, highlighted by the Honda–Aston Martin upgrade programme, show the premium on integrated development pipelines from grassroots to the Formula 1 ecosystem.

Success for this intake is measured less by immediate lap time and more by progression into competitive seats. The structure gives talent visibility and opportunity to convert potential into results.
