- Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker return for second consecutive season
- Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies continue third straight year together
- Mustang GT3 cars receive aerodynamic and suspension upgrades in 2026

Ford Racing retains its IMSA GTD Pro program unchanged for 2027, keeping both driver pairings, team structure, and the Mustang GT3 package that underpinned a resurgent 2026 campaign.
Dennis Olsen and Ben Barker stay in the No. 64 Mustang GT3 for a second season. Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies continue in the No. 65 for a third consecutive year.
Continuity matters in GTD Pro’s GT3 rule set, where setup learning, pit choreography, and tyre understanding translate directly into race execution and Balance of Performance headroom.

Results already reflect that stability. Vervisch and Mies won at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in May. Olsen and Barker triumphed at Indianapolis in September, alongside a double podium at VIR.
Into the 2026 Petit Le Mans finale, Vervisch and Mies sit fourth, with Olsen and Barker fifth. Ford is second, 68 points back, keeping the manufacturers’ title fight alive at Road Atlanta.
A preseason evolution package sharpened aerodynamics, braking, and suspension, addressing the Mustang GT3’s high‑speed balance. The upgrades broadened operating window and reduced tyre management penalties over long runs.
Barker notes IMSA’s frequent safety car periods and strategy variance versus WEC. The condensed fields reward restart execution, pit timing, and adaptability, accelerating his and Olsen’s learning curve.

Program manager Alex Allmandinger stresses stability. Continued development with known drivers should compound gains, aligning car evolution with operational refinements for a sustained 2027 title push.
Competition remains tight under BoP, with rivals consolidating programs. Moves like Winward’s 2027 planning highlight the class’s depth and the premium on execution.
Series-wide investment is evident in GTP as well, underscored by Laurin Heinrich’s recent GTP opportunity, reinforcing IMSA’s upward trajectory across categories.
Ford expects improved correlation on return visits, including places like Indianapolis, where the Mustang GT3 already converted pace into victory.
With experienced pairings, a maturing platform, and hard-earned procedural cohesion, Ford targets drivers’, teams’, and manufacturers’ crowns in 2027 GTD Pro.
