AJ Foyt Racing has signed Dennis Hauger on a multiyear deal from 2027. The 23-year-old will race the No. 14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
Hauger arrives after completing his rookie season with Dale Coyne Racing. The move signals Foyt’s commitment to youth and a renewed technical programme backed by strengthened partnerships.
He won INDY NXT in 2025 with six victories for Andretti Global. Earlier honours include Italian F4 2019, FIA F3 2021, five F2 wins, and long-term Red Bull Junior backing.

Team president Larry Foyt highlighted Hauger’s adaptability and results. He pointed to consistent progress across categories and a promising learning curve through the 2026 rookie INDYCAR campaign.
During 2026, he delivered a breakthrough win with Dale Coyne Racing, strengthening his case for 2027. That success showcased improved tyre usage and decisive race management.
For Foyt, the Hauger deal fits a broader rebuild. The team cites investment in personnel, simulation, and business alignment with Hendricks Holding and Homes For Our Troops.
Hauger emphasised alignment on direction and development pace. He referenced the team’s history and outlined a desire to convert potential into consistent results across ovals, street circuits, and road courses.
His first appearance as a Foyt driver comes October 2 at GM Defense Valor & Velocity Gala in Warren, Michigan. The No. 14 car will be displayed there.
The gala supports the Medal of Honor Foundation and draws senior GM executives and U.S. defense leaders.
Homes For Our Troops features again on the No. 14 entry. The charity builds specially adapted homes for severely injured post‑9/11 veterans, aligning competitive goals with a community-driven purpose.
Foyt expects further driver announcements as 2027 approaches. The market remains active, with moves elsewhere shaping the competitive order before offseason testing windows open.
Christian Lundgaard’s 2027 positioning underlines that churn, with recent analysis indicating significant interest and potential seat reshuffles across leading INDYCAR operations.
Parallel shifts continue in Formula 1, with the F1 driver market moving in step and influencing cross-series opportunities for young talents.
Hauger’s arrival gives Foyt a clear development axis for 2027. Delivery now depends on integrating him quickly and converting investment into consistent qualifying speed and operational execution.
