On Friday at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals, World Wide Technology Raceway launched a 75th‑season recognition program and honored six-time Pro Stock champion Greg Anderson. That weekend also produced the NHRA Midwest Nationals winners, underscoring form trends across the pro classes.
Anderson, driving the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro, holds 116 national event wins and four victories at the St. Louis venue, formerly Gateway International Raceway.
He reset the track elapsed-time record at 6.482 seconds, eclipsing his 2015 benchmark, and credited owner Curtis Francois, vice president Chris Blair, and staff for sustained support.

Anderson’s WWT Raceway record builds over decades. He reached his first St. Louis final in 2000 and narrowly lost again in 2002 before breaking through in 2004.
He returned to the final the following year. Since then, each St. Louis final has yielded a win, including 2017, 2023, and 2025 over Jason Line and Matt Hartford.
The ceremony recognized drivers with four or more WWT Raceway victories. Alongside Anderson, Gary Scelzi, Ron Capps, Steve Torrence, Matt Smith, Antron Brown, Doug Kalitta, and Erica Enders joined Gateway’s Greatest.
St. Louis drew strong local interest, bolstered by a FOX 2 preview that framed expectations and amplified the 75th‑season storyline through the weekend.
Beyond ceremony, the competitive implications are clear. Anderson leaves St. Louis fourth in Pro Stock, targeting Countdown rounds at Dallas, Las Vegas, and Pomona with momentum and execution as priorities. The meet also fed into the broader title picture in St. Louis across classes.

He has now won at 24 NHRA national venues. The Texas NHRA FallNationals run October 9–18 at the Texas Motorplex, where Anderson owns six wins, offering a timely opportunity to convert pace into points.
Anderson emphasizes the team’s role. Crew efficiency and car consistency underpin his late-season push, with the HendrickCars.com Camaro delivering repeatable elapsed-time performance under varying conditions.
