The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series heads to Texas Motorplex for the Stampede of Speed and the 41st Texas NHRA FallNationals from October 9-18.

The FallNationals, running October 14-18, represent round 18 of 20 and the fourth Countdown event, sharpening the championship picture.

Last season’s winners converted Dallas success into titles: Doug Kalitta, Austin Prock, Dallas Glenn, and Richard Gadson. Each earned the cowboy hat and Wally at the renowned Texas venue.

Friday opens with two qualifying sessions and JEGS Friday Night Live, including the Battle for the Saddle, intensifying single-lap execution.

Bonuses exceed $40,000: $15,000 each for the lowest Top Fuel and Funny Car qualifiers, plus $7,500 and $5,000 for Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle pace-setters.

Fans can join the Black and Yellow Bash on Friday night, adding atmosphere before Saturday’s decisive runs.

JEGS Friday Night Live puts $40,000+ on the line, including $15,000 for Top Fuel and Funny Car low qualifiers.

Saturday features VP Racing Spirits Final Qualifying and a key afternoon session, placing emphasis on track evolution and lane choice.

VP Racing debuts its Twisted Sisters Texas Whiskey, aligning brand activity with the series’ fan-forward format.

All four Pro classes chase the Speedy Armadillo trophy, presented by VP Racing’s Ida Zetterström alongside the company mascot.

Sunday eliminations begin at noon local time, with coverage on FS1.

Sunday eliminations will crown winners before a packed Motorplex, with championship momentum on the line entering the final stretch.

Top Fuel centers on Doug Kalitta, a four-time winner this year and regular-season champion, managing risk against the need for points accumulation.

Shawn Langdon arrives red hot, riding a four-race winning streak to eight victories, redefining the class form guide.

Kalitta’s consistency meets Langdon’s surge in a pivotal Top Fuel swing race.

Threats remain broad: Antron Brown’s racecraft, Leah Pruett’s pace, rookie Maddi Gordon’s progression, and Tony Stewart’s adaptability.

In Funny Car, Matt Hagan leads the standings, pressed by Jordan Vandergriff and Austin Prock after sustained performance gains.

Experience still matters. Ron Capps, J.R. Todd, and Jack Beckman remain capable of reshaping the Countdown narrative.

Pro Stock features Dallas Glenn, last year’s Dallas winner, chasing regular-season champion Greg Stanfield with fine margins expected.

Greg Anderson, Matt Hartford, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Troy Coughlin Jr., and Texan Erica Enders add depth and strategic nuance.

Richard Gadson heads Pro Stock Motorcycle in the Countdown, resisting pressure from Gaige Herrera, Matt and Angie Smith, John Hall, Ryan Oehler, and Chase Van Sant.

Beyond the Mission Foods headliners, the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series begins October 14, tightening paddock workload and schedule cadence.

Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown and the Right Trailers Outlaw Street finals complement a varied weekend portfolio.

The JEGS Allstars returns October 16, spotlighting elite Sportsman competition within the Stampede of Speed program.

Fans get pre-race driver introductions for the Wally, a Track Walk, and a winners circle celebration to close the weekend.

Reserved tickets and pit passes open garage access, driver meet-and-greets, and the Manufacturers Midway’s activations and merchandise.

Qualifying runs on Friday and Saturday set ladders and critical lane choice. Sunday eliminations start at noon with FS1 coverage.

Texas’ drag calendar continues to thrive, from the FallNationals to events like Nitro Chaos, reinforcing the region’s competitive intensity.

The weekend’s significance aligns with the sport’s 75th Anniversary narrative and resonates with stories like the Kirk Wolf Texas Challenge that celebrate local motorsport heritage.
