The JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Mod Series returns to Chicago this weekend at Route 66 Raceway, powered by ProFlow Pumping Solutions. It runs within the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK.
This is round five of eleven and the penultimate event before the playoffs. Competitive balance is evident, with four different winners from the opening four races.
Derek Menholt carries form after earning his second career victory, while rookie standout Jason Collins took his first NHRA Pro Mod win at South Georgia. Collins achieved it in only his second start.

ProFlow’s presenting role aligns with the category’s technical emphasis. President and owner Scott Champlin highlights the company’s focus on motion and horsepower, mirroring Pro Mod’s powertrain and reliability demands.
The partnership offers trackside engagement with teams and fans while underscoring precision, durability, and repeatability under pressure—core performance metrics across both industry and motorsport.
Mason Wright enters as defending Chicago winner after defeating reigning champion J.R. Gray in last year’s final. Wright also secured the 2025 top qualifying spot at Route 66 Raceway.
The depth is notable. Points leader Justin Bond, Menholt, Gray, Mike Stavrinos, Billy Banaka, Stevie “Fast” Jackson, Mike Thielen, Lyle Barnett, Collins, and Stan Shelton headline a tightly matched field.

Qualifying runs take place Friday at 12:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. CT, with two further sessions Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eliminations begin Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
Live coverage includes the second Friday and Saturday sessions and the first elimination round on Sunday, offering free access and clearer read-across on form ahead of eliminations.
With the regular season closing, every round win carries increased weight for playoff seeding. Execution in variable conditions could decide crucial points and lane choice on Sunday.
Expect an intense, detail-driven weekend. The Chicago stop blends championship significance with engineering precision, rewarding teams that manage power delivery, setup range, and turnaround discipline under time pressure.
