Bonnington’s résumé is unique. He has worked directly with Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, the sport’s two seven-time champions, spanning eras and car philosophies.
With Hamilton, the partnership delivered six drivers’ titles and 83 of his 84 Mercedes victories, missing only the 2019 Mexico win when Bonnington was absent for personal reasons.
That pedigree now underpins Antonelli’s rookie campaign. Bonnington has helped extract five wins from seven races, giving Antonelli a 41-point advantage over Hamilton in the standings.
