His 7.650 seconds against Dietsch’s 7.693 secures the $1,000 bounty, underscoring pace gains after a difficult season. Stifling 100-degree heat and long days test the team’s resilience.

The victory includes a $1,000 Flexjet bounty earned with a 7.650s quarterfinal run.

He reports three between-round setup changes before pace stabilizes.

“I am having an out-of-body experience. The car hasn’t worked well this year, and suddenly something clicked,” Libersher says, crediting family and sponsors for sustained support.

A semifinal bye propels him to his first U.S. Nationals final, delivering a maiden 2026 victory and the third national event win of his career.

It is Libersher’s tenth U.S. Nationals appearance, improving on a 2024 semifinal best.

The Scott Township driver qualifies No. 1 and reaches a fifth straight final, plus a second at the U.S. Nationals. He extends the lead to 194 points over Raymond Nash.

That consistency follows a mid-season surge, highlighted by a recent Factory Stock triumph for the points leader.

“To race on Monday was the goal,” he says. “Winning would have been the cherry on top, but there’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

He also notes fortune in round two when Lee Hartman’s car sputters, easing progression.

The series continues at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, for the Dodge NHRA Great Lake Nationals on September 18-20, with three races remaining.

Next event: Dodge NHRA Great Lake Nationals, U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, September 18-20, 2026.

Libersher’s unlocked performance gives Chevrolet momentum, while Allegrucci’s cushion permits risk management as conditions and tracks evolve.
