Opel unveils the final GSE 27FE livery before its Formula E debut, completing a Rüsselsheim-led design programme. The car makes its public bow at the Paris Motor Show.
The scheme centres on black, silver, and yellow, referencing Opel’s motorsport heritage while framing a modern electric narrative. A metallic silver spine runs the car’s length.
Pixelated “Lightspeed Stripes,” first applied to the Mokka GSE Rally in 2025, add movement and depth. Opel GSE Yellow signifies energy, a core competitive currency in Formula E.

Brand design lead Pierre-Olivier Garcia positions the lines as visualised airflow, colour as energy, and precision as efficiency—ideas that align with Formula E’s evolving brand identity.
Within a spec-chassis, software-led series, differentiation is mostly strategic. Clear liveries aid recognition while gains come from energy deployment, software, and operations under Gen4 constraints.
The final look earns approval from Mitch Evans, whose 16 wins set a benchmark under pressure. Théo Pourchaire joins, with Sophia Flörsch continuing as test and development driver.

Evans’s experience should accelerate setup learning, energy targets, and racing tools, complementing Pourchaire’s adaptability. That blend mirrors the value of veteran leadership across the paddock.
Opel’s reveal lands as electric racing expands through new alliances and markets, reflecting Formula E’s wider commercial footprint and continuing manufacturer appeal.
The Paris launch also precedes a season expected to be quicker and more efficient, consistent with recent performance projections. Execution, not aesthetics, will decide competitiveness.
But a coherent identity matters. Opel couples a distinctive visual language with an efficiency-first message, signalling intent for a disciplined entry and measurable progress across its rookie campaign.
