M-Sport has revealed its 2027 Rally2 kit car for the WRC. The move follows new FIA rules for a €7,500 upgrade package. M-Sport is first to develop Fiesta Rally2 kit.
Designed to narrow the gap to WRC27 cars, the kit improves aerodynamic balance. It adds homologated front fenders, a new front bumper, and a rear device. Weight drops by 10kg.
A 33mm turbo restrictor is confirmed for the package. That shapes power delivery and parity. The lighter mass and aero revisions should aid stability and traction on asphalt and gravel.

M-Sport is conducting a week-long asphalt test in Spain with the revised Fiesta Rally2. Images show notable changes to the front bumper and rear wing on a white development car.
Former WRC driver Matthew Wilson handled Tuesday’s running. His feedback supports correlation between CFD, wind tunnel, and track. The programme now focuses on durability, setup range, and homologation timing.
M-Sport plans to field three Rally2 kit cars next year across the expanded 15-round WRC calendar. That scope signals intent to target class wins from the season’s opening rallies.

The team has also announced a new factory partnership with Ford from 2028. Support increases from next year, strengthening resources, parts flow, and development bandwidth ahead of the manufacturer tie-up.
The 2027 driver lineup remains open. Richard Millener says choices will prioritise talent, fit, and funding. The call comes amid a market including Ogier’s 2027 WRC future discussions.
Millener highlights a multi-year plan aimed at winning in 2029 with a new car. Building a stable core squad is central, with scope to expand depending on Ford Europe’s ambitions.
The Rally2 kit offers a cost-effective path to performance without a full redesign. For M-Sport, competitiveness hinges on testing execution, a settled 2027 driver lineup, and navigating the evolving market.
