Cadillac Racing commits to three Cadillac V-Series.R entries for the 2027 IMSA season, promoting Frederik Vesti to the #31 Whelen car alongside reigning GTP champion Jack Aitken.

The programme continues Cadillac’s third straight GTP season, sustaining momentum after title success and expanded multi-car operations across the 2027 IMSA lineup.

Earl Bamber shifts to a Michelin Endurance Cup-only role for 2027. Cadillac has yet to confirm the additional driver for the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Wayne Taylor Racing retains stability with unchanged crews. Ricky Taylor partners Filipe Albuquerque in the #10 for a seventh season.

Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz stay paired in the #40 for a fourth year, with Norman Nato supporting endurance rounds. Will Stevens returns for the longest MEC events.

Earl Bamber moves to Michelin Endurance Cup-only; Rolex 24 third driver remains unconfirmed.

Recent results reinforce that approach. Road America victory and podiums at Detroit and Petit Le Mans lifted confidence and validated development direction.

This operational continuity follows years of change, including Michelin tyres, two-car integration, and a new manufacturer partnership, strengthening Cadillac’s title defence platform.

GM motorsport lead Eric Warren frames the roster as a blend of race-winning experience and new impetus, targeting pace and consistency across the full GTP calendar.

Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque extend their #10 partnership into a seventh season.

Action Express Racing boss Gary Nelson says Vesti’s elevation was planned, rewarding his stand-in form and aligning with a structured driver development pathway.

Vesti’s career arc mirrors Aitken’s. Both were Formula 2 winners, pursued F1 opportunities, then pivoted to sports cars through sustained LMP2 and GT mileage.

Aitken started a Grand Prix with Williams in 2020. Vesti served as a Mercedes reserve and debuted in IMSA LMP2 at the 2024 Petit Le Mans.

He later substituted for Bamber in sprint races, proving adaptable. A full-time GTP seat in 2027 completes that apprenticeship within Cadillac’s structure.

His rise dovetails with Cadillac’s wider motorsport expansion, including recent F1 team signings and 2027 WEC driver moves.

The 2027 campaign also marks a decade since Cadillac’s prototype debut, with the DPi-V.R arriving in IMSA for 2017.

Across DPi and GTP, Cadillac records 36 wins and 115 podiums, including 30 in GTP and 85 in DPi, leading IMSA prototype victories over the period.

Cadillac’s IMSA prototype decade: 36 wins and 115 podiums since 2017.

Attention now turns to the Rolex 24, where tyre warm-up, traffic management, and caution timing often decide GTP races. Cadillac enters with depth, continuity, and proven race execution.
