Spurlock becomes the first Black woman to race in a NASCAR national series.

The step follows a rapid progression from drag racing to stock cars, underpinned by NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle experience and recent ARCA mileage.

Her racing interest began at 12 through her godfather’s introduction to drag racing. By 16, she owned a motorcycle and soon competed nationally.

She added a 2025 milestone as the second Black woman to race at the Virginia NHRA Nationals, sharpening reaction discipline at high speed.

That skillset translates to Trucks via braking precision, throttle modulation, and commitment at corner entry, crucial on Dover’s high-load concrete.

Debut scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. ET at Dover’s “Monster Mile.”

Stock car development accelerated this year in the ARCA Menards Series East and ARCA, including seventh at Hickory for MBM’s No. 66 Ford in March.

Further results—a top-15 at Rockingham and 10th at Kansas—provided racecraft and procedural learning, plus additional seat time at Watkins Glen in May.

A planned Truck debut at Watkins Glen ended with a DNQ in wet conditions, yet it clarified preparation, adaptability, and qualifying execution.

Mentorship from Lavar Scott has shaped Spurlock’s preparation and mindset for national-level competition.

Spurlock trains alongside NASCAR driver Lavar Scott, whose guidance on race runs, traffic, and pit-lane discipline has accelerated her adaptation.

MBM’s targets are pragmatic: qualify cleanly, manage tire wear, and avoid restart errors that typically define track position at Dover.

Natalie Decker and Toni Breidinger also start at Dover, offering both visibility and relevant benchmarks for Spurlock’s immediate competitive yardstick.

Three women—Spurlock, Decker, and Breidinger—are slated to race in the Truck Series at Dover.

Spurlock’s goals center on executing laps, absorbing data, and converting practice learning into steady race pace rather than headline-chasing aggression.

Dover’s one-mile layout compresses traffic and punishes mistakes. Banking loads the right-front, and long runs reward restraint with throttle and brake.

Whatever the final result, the debut represents a substantive next step in Spurlock’s multi-discipline career and a significant marker for NASCAR’s competitive landscape.
