The NHRA has confirmed a 20-race 2027 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series calendar, opening February 18-21 and closing November 11-14 at Pomona, alongside a season-long “50 Years of Force” celebration.

The schedule marks NHRA’s 76th season and a return to traditional Pomona bookends, with 18 additional stops shaping a broad national footprint and varied performance conditions.

Early rounds include Phoenix’s Firebird Motorsports Park, Gainesville Raceway in Florida, and Charlotte’s zMAX Dragway.

2026 debut venues South Georgia and Maryland return on April 30–May 2 and May 21–23.

July features the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in Illinois, scheduled for July 9-11.

The 2027 season opens February 18-21 and concludes November 11-14 at Pomona.

A West Coast swing follows after a week’s pause, with Sonoma’s Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals on July 23-25 and Seattle’s Muckleshoot Casino Resort Northwest Nationals on July 30–August 1.

August features the Brainerd Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota from August 19-22, a traditional pre-Indy form guide.

The 73rd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals runs September 1-6 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, remaining the championship’s flagship meeting.

The 73rd U.S. Nationals anchors Labor Day week at Indianapolis, the sport’s premier stage.

The three-event Countdown to the Championship then compresses title pressure: Michigan’s U.S. 131 on September 17-19, Rockingham on September 24-26, and St. Louis on October 1-3.

The stretch continues with the Texas FallNationals during the “Stampede of Speed” on October 13-17, then Las Vegas on October 28-31, before champions are crowned at Pomona.

Countdown racing begins September 17 with three consecutive weekends shaping the championship.

A season-long “50 Years of Force” program will honor John Force’s 16-title legacy, with activations planned at every round and details to follow.

Competitive implications are clear. The varied track types and climates reward adaptable tuning, while the condensed Countdown prioritizes reliability, reaction-time discipline, and resource management across consecutive transits.

Teams will target early momentum before midseason heat, then bank parts for the postseason. Pomona’s cool November conditions should reset performance envelopes for the finale.
