Williams will celebrate its 50th Formula 1 anniversary in 2027 with a London fan experience, FW50 chassis designation, and a fan-voted British Grand Prix livery. It becomes the third continuous entrant after Ferrari and McLaren.

Centrepiece of the programme is ‘W50 Live’ in Waterloo, London, a theatrical, multi‑sensory exhibit charting Williams’ story from Frank Williams and Patrick Head’s railway‑arch beginnings to modern‑era achievements.

‘W50 Live’ will anchor Williams’ 2027 celebrations in central London.

The display will include the FW06, the dominant FW14B, and the FW38 that hit 378km/h with Valtteri Bottas at Mexico 2016. A show car previews the 2027 challenger, designated FW50.

Fans will vote on a special Silverstone livery for the British Grand Prix, nodding to milestones including Regazzoni’s 1979 breakthrough win and Villeneuve delivering the team’s 100th victory in 1997.

Supporters will choose Williams’ British GP livery as part of the W50 programme.

Complementary plans include limited‑edition merchandise carrying the W50 logo. The naming continues Williams’ tendency to mark landmark seasons with distinctive chassis designations.

The programme is pitched as a celebration of the team’s legacy while engaging new fans.

Team principal James Vowles frames the milestone against a volatile competitive landscape, noting that over 100 teams have disappeared while Williams’ independence and winning ambition continue to define its identity.

James Vowles stresses Williams’ independence and enduring ambition amid F1’s churn.

F1 chief Stefano Domenicali highlights resilience and determination as the team’s hallmarks, positioning Williams’ achievements as central to the championship’s heritage while it prepares the next chapter.

Domenicali hails Williams’ resilience and role in F1’s heritage.

Further announcements are expected through 2027. Off‑track, Williams faces scrutiny after recent financial losses, underlining the importance of converting heritage into sustainable performance.
